If you are into movies that are green, then this is a great movie for you. Also if you have wondered all your life what separates eroticism from pornography (and you don’t have internet access so you can find out for yourself) then you might learn something. In all honesty this movie does not completely disappoint, it is unfortunately one of the better films in its genre to come out recently. The story is bearable, the dialogue is OK, and the photography is actually pretty good most of the time (although the whole film appears to have been run through some sort of green filter). It’s really the story that makes this film watchable, just intriguing enough to keep your attention despite flaws normally associated with indie gothic horror. And as far as that goes, this film is definitely a cut or two above anything else in its genre.![]() Story:
Jack has some baggage, like the fact that the love of his life (and the only attractive actress in the film) went nuts and now he can’t photograph her holding stuff in front of her boobs anymore. Also the Holy Grail has morphed into the Ark of the Covenant in this movie and you can’t look at it or you’ll die a la “Raiders of the Lost Ark”. Fine, if you put it like that it sounds pretty goofy, but you really should give this movie a chance if you’re a fan of the genre, it’s a pretty limited genre as far as watchable titles go, so you can’t afford to miss this one anyway. The good:The filming is not bad at all, that part of the movie is really well done, and the story, although a bit far fetched (what do you expect form gothic horror) is enough to keep you watching. The movie shows influence form film-makers like Cronenberg and Lynch, (albeit with debatable success) and really could have been nearly top notch if more effort had gone into casting. The bad:The acting is pretty bad, sorry to say. I mean really almost deal-breaking bad. Fortunately this is a very visual movie and there is enough eye candy and atmosphere to keep the acting from completely destroying the film altogether. Conclusion:I think in the end the good outweighs the bad and if you’ve got nothing better to do you wont regret having seen this film. |

Jack Fender is a reluctant porn photographer who would rather be making “art” (art to Jack is naked chicks holding beads and crosses in front of their boobs). One day he witnesses a car crash and as usually happens, he is charged by a dying woman to protect a sacred relic that is essential to the safety of the universe. (I hate it when that happens to me – that’s why now I just say “no”.)
