So John Stockwell is asking God what the world really needs and God said, “there needs to be a movie about treasure diving. And it needs to have Jessica Alba in it because we haven’t seen enough underwater bathing suit shots of her” God went on to stipulate that the movie should not encourage drug abuse.

Story:

A couple of barely employed wannabe treasure hunters (Jessica Alba and Paul Walker) find a long lost ship full of gold, which a lot of people have been looking for, along with a recently lost HUGE cocaine shipment, which a lot of people have also been looking for. The people looking for the gold are mostly not the same people looking for the cocaine. Though many of the people would be happy with either, some want both and some want neither.

I mostly just want a decent watchable movie that won’t make me feel stupider for having seen it and this one mostly delivers that I guess.

The Good:

As was mentioned before there’s Jessica Alba in a bathing suit in this movie lots of times. I thought that was pretty cool.

The Bad:

There are a good few people out there convinced this movie was a piece of crap. It’s not so much that they are wrong, it’s just that they were most likely expecting too much in the first place.

Conclusion:

Not much to conclude really, there was no real way I was not gonna watch it, so what would be the point? There aren’t many movies I watch that my wife enjoys, but she seemed to like this one.
