Evil Breed: the Legend of Samhain (2003) PDF Print E-mail

Finally someone is applying what appears to some basic logic to the whole low-budget Horror thing. We’re making a movie with terrible actors and a script that could have been written by monkeys (since it was probably mostly ad-libbed anyway) but instead of getting people off the street to act in it we’ll use porn stars. Works for me, and it worked fairly well for this movie too. Remind me to get porn stars when I make my cheap horror movie.

Story:

Well it’s getting near Halloween and we’re vacationing in Ireland with a bunch of porn stars. It’s kind of an alternative-reality Ireland with North American fauna and some Irishmen who insist on driving on the right side of the road like Americans, but we got our porn stars so we’re fine.

Nothing is going to ruin our weekend, not even the retarded kid who tells us we’re all going to die unless we stay on the trails, or the flesh eating mutants who have somehow survived for generations feeding on humans even though they move more slowly than zombies.

You seriously can’t expect a lot from a movie like this, honestly though I think the whole stereotype about porn stars being bad actors may be more of a problem with poorly written lines. There is actually some surprisingly believable dialogue in this movie, something I did not expect.

While there isn’t really enough character development to make a person care about what happens to any of the characters, that’s fine, you can tell they all had a good time making this movie and I for one had a fairly good time watching it.

Conclusion:

“Goes good with beer” is my general conclusion.
