What sets a franchise like “Saw” apart from most other horror movies is that the victims are not idiots. You don’t sit there screaming at them saying “You moron, run THE OTHER WAY!” or “He’s not dead, hit him again!” or “Look in the back seat!” They are for the most part thinking individuals who make logical, intelligent choices, to no avail. Another thing that takes a horror movie to a higher level is when the villain seems to have a fairly good reason for what he is doing, at least good enough to seem more logical and intelligent than the hero. “Seven” was like that, and so is “Saw 2” The acting in this movie is probably not stellar, in fact it is adequate enough that it doesn’t stand out one way or the other, trust me, this is a good thing. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred if you notice the acting in a horror movie it’s because it’s bad. This one of those films that’s hard to stop thinking about afterwards, you’ll be up wondering how you would have reacted to the various situations that Jigsaw puts his victims in. There were a few that I think I would have handled quite a bit better than the people in the movie, but not so much so that I couldn’t relate to the various characters responses. Saw 2 is must-see for any self respecting Horror fan.

I actually thought this one was better than the original. More character development (a much larger cast helped) and a greater total number of people and situations just made it overall more interesting. On top of that it was plenty disturbing, just like the original.
